The Museum of the Middle Appalachians’ Woolly Mammoth Day Breakfast scheduled for January 29, 2022, has been canceled. Woolly’s Friends hoped that Covid-19/Omicron would be under control by then, but it isn’t happening. However, Woolly’s Weather prognostication for Spring will be held as planned outside the Museum at 11:00 AM. Admission to the Museum on that day is by donation. As with all events, museum members are admitted free. Please be safe by following the usual Covid precautions for masks and social distance. Woolly is very disappointed and apologizes for any inconvenience. Call 276-496-3633 for questions or further information.
Live entertainment will be provided in the Museum’s Singleton Hall following the weather announcement The 2021 Winter Wonderland remains open for visitors through January 30 at no extra charge. The old Saltville Bowling Alley space upstairs over the Museum will also be open to visitors who want to reminisce the popular teenage hangout of the 1950s. Private concession vendors will be on hand selling coffee, hot chocolate, and breakfast snacks. Call the Museum at 276-496-3633
Watch for a big Mammoth Barbecue coming later in the year; that is if everyone can stay well and the Covid-19 Pandemic is diminished to a tolerable level. Watch for announcements on the date, location, and details. It won’t be the big breakfast, but it will be good food, and a day of fun visiting with friends.
