The Woolly Mammoth Breakfast in Saltville, VA, sponsored by the Museum of the Middle Appalachians, has been canceled for 2021 due to pandemic restrictions on crowd size and space. It is an unfortunate
the decision to make, but a necessary one for the safety and health of the general public.
However, Woolly has agreed to carry on with her custom of predicting if there will be six more weeks of winter and the challenge to outsmart Punxsutawney Phil.
We will also be streaming the prediction on Facebook for those who prefer to watch from home.
Woolly has been patrolling Saltville from the downtown Commons for the past year and has collected good weather signs. The fresh air and mask have been good for Woolly and she has avoided the dreadful virus.
All Covid regulations will be followed for the event. Everyone must wear a mask and stay six feet apart. You may bring your own chair. Woolly hopes that she can get the Covid vaccination in time for her
prediction on Saturday, January 30 at 10:30 AM.
The Woolly Mammoth Breakfast is the biggest fund-raising event for the Museum of the Middle Appalachians. If you would like to make a donation to Woolly and the Museum, you can do so by contacting the museum through the following ways:
